I've been on vacation this past week. Just me & the kids! We haven't done a lot, but I did get to sleep in until 9 almost every morning, it was pure bliss!! We spent every afternoon at the rink, the girls had skating. They both did fantastic, Eliza gained so much confidence & Kayla perfected a few jumps and spins. I met a wonderful lady from S. Korea. Her daughters were also skating, they've lived here for almost 2 years. They haven family here at all, can't begin to imagine! We're getting ready to head to the cottage got a few days, Jason starts his vacation today. I see reading good books, late night hot tub soaks, sitting in the brook & relaxation in my future!!
My parents arrive home Monday night from China. They're arriving 2 weeks earlier than expected, can't wait! U2 is in town this weekend. We didn't plan on going but now that the concert is so close I must say I'm wanting to be there!
Jacob is so funny, he wants a dirtbike really bad, we were at Cdn Tire yesterday and found one for 699.99 he thinks he has enough $$. he counted his $$ in his piggy bank and has 9.20! he's convinced we're buying the bike this weekend!!

homesick, birthdays, backsplash & preaching!
Jason got a call on Wednesday from Jacob saying his tummy hurt and he needed to come home from camp. Of course I thought he just missed his Mama! We drove out after work and he had his sleeping bag rolled up & his suitcase was packed, no way was he staying any longer. Around 3:30am he came into our room burning up, Jason stayed home with him on Thursday and he made the comment..."see I told you guys I was sick!" Poor little guy still wasn't himself on Thursday night, he still had his fever on Friday morning so I ended staying home with him on Friday...we spent the day being lazy, I got lots & lots of cuddles! We picked the girls up on Friday night, went to the Big Stop for a snack and to hear all about their week at camp. Saturday morning we left to go pick up our first produce box....what a huge disappointment, first of all let me add, we paid a deposit of $120 back in April and then the deal was we had to pay $10/wk...So we got out of the car and honestly we got 5 beet greens...literally 5 little pieces, about 4 pieces of spinach, and 1/2 a lettuce....I can't believe it! Not even enough for 1 meal. It's this farm's first time to participate so Jason's planning on letting Farmer's Bundles know how little we received compared to other farms boxes. Let's hope next weeks is better or I'm getting my $$ back. It's my birthday today and my favorite restaurant is The Keg so we planned on going there for lunch today with the family...we've always gone just Jason & I and it's normally $100...so with the 5 of us it wasn't going to be cheap....but, we were at Costco on Saturday and saw really nice backsplash tiles. Our renos have been done for 3 years but we've never finished the backsplash...Instead of going to The Keg I suggested we take the $$ we'd spend on lunch and buy the stuff to complete the backsplash....so voila I'm getting my backsplash done instead, I think I made a great decision :) This morning at church our Youth Pastor--P. Pat spoke, and he did an amazing job, he asked us what our motivation was in going to church and whether it was because we loved Jesus or just because it was the thing to do. I really got a lot out of his message and I'm really trying to be a real person! Tonight we went to GT, my brother was speaking...and he also did a great job! His title was "Damaged but Deliverable" the whole day flowed perfectly! We sang this hymn tonight and I'm at the point in my life that I can truly say It is Well!

Meli Melo
Jason & I decided to sign up for farmersbundles.com/ this summer. We pick up our first box on Saturday, can't wait to see what's in it. I've seen pictures of some boxes and boys I can't wait to see Jay eating some of this stuff (kale, beet greens, garlic scapes) I'll be sure to post pics of our boxes every week.
Our vacation is not very far away. I've taken 2 weeks together off this year for the first time in 9 years...well, except when we went to Florida a couple years ago. Because of Jason's job situation changing this year he's only taking the 2nd week off with us, but that's ok...my first week is going to be spent at the rink with the girls anyways. We're planning on leaving for the cottage on the Friday though and staying until Tuesday, then coming back home to go on some day trips around here. We're thinking about checking out sagouine.com we've never been there, but I hear that the kids would love it. Have you guys been there? Thoughts? I know that my Thursday day trip is going to be to Houltons with Luke & Bre. Hoping to clean up on school supplies at Mardens! I've got one thing bought already - Kayla's sneakers...I found a super cute pair of Pumas at Winners for $34.99...way better than the $70 or $80 I was expecting to pay. She's going into Gr 5...I bought her a pair of New Balance sneakers in Gr 3 and haven't bought her a pair since...I'm a firm believer in buying good sneakers. I'll buy everything else at Frenchy's but sneakers need to be well made! Eliza's wanting a pair of Tom's for her indoor shoes this year...check them out....I love what they do... tomsshoes.ca

I'm going to try this again!!!
Here I go again...last night I opened my blog and my last entry was November 20th, 2010...it was very interesting reading that entry, little did I know at the time that only 24 hours later my world would literally be turned upside down, and shaken to the core. More on that later maybe.
I'm going to attempt to break down the last 8mths bit by bit, I could honestly write a book, and maybe one day I will...haha!
*Jacob finished his 1st season of Initiation Hockey, he loved every minute of it.
*Eliza made the decision to re-enrol in Figure Skating meaning she'd have to skate with kids much younger to pass her levels before going into Jr's, I was so proud of her determination. She breezed through the badges and started Jr's in the Spring.
*Kayla passed her 1st two compulsery dances, the Dutch Waltz and the Canasta Tango, she continues to thrive on the ice.
Jason & I have gone through major "Stuff" in our marriage, at one point we had to sit down and make the decision as to whether or not it was all worth working through...let me tell you, your marriage is worth fighting for. The process is no fun and it brings out a lot of pain and heartache, but everything needs to come out in the open in order for the healing and restoration process to begin.
I'm on the road to getting to my optimal weight...I've realized that I need God's help and direction with this and that He does care about our health. He created us in His image! It's a daily struggle, but I WILL succeed!!
Here's the words of a song that I've been listening to all day.....

If my heart has grown cold
There Your love will unfold
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand
When I'm blind to my way
There Your Spirit will pray
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand
Oceans will part, nations come
At the whisper of Your call
Hope will rise glory shown
In my life Your will be done
Present suffering will pass
Lord Your mercy will last
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand
And my heart will find praise
I'll delight in Your way
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand
As You open my eyes to the work of Your hand.
