homesick, birthdays, backsplash & preaching!
Jason got a call on Wednesday from Jacob saying his tummy hurt and he needed to come home from camp. Of course I thought he just missed his Mama! We drove out after work and he had his sleeping bag rolled up & his suitcase was packed, no way was he staying any longer. Around 3:30am he came into our room burning up, Jason stayed home with him on Thursday and he made the comment..."see I told you guys I was sick!" Poor little guy still wasn't himself on Thursday night, he still had his fever on Friday morning so I ended staying home with him on Friday...we spent the day being lazy, I got lots & lots of cuddles! We picked the girls up on Friday night, went to the Big Stop for a snack and to hear all about their week at camp. Saturday morning we left to go pick up our first produce box....what a huge disappointment, first of all let me add, we paid a deposit of $120 back in April and then the deal was we had to pay $10/wk...So we got out of the car and honestly we got 5 beet greens...literally 5 little pieces, about 4 pieces of spinach, and 1/2 a lettuce....I can't believe it! Not even enough for 1 meal. It's this farm's first time to participate so Jason's planning on letting Farmer's Bundles know how little we received compared to other farms boxes. Let's hope next weeks is better or I'm getting my $$ back. It's my birthday today and my favorite restaurant is The Keg so we planned on going there for lunch today with the family...we've always gone just Jason & I and it's normally $100...so with the 5 of us it wasn't going to be cheap....but, we were at Costco on Saturday and saw really nice backsplash tiles. Our renos have been done for 3 years but we've never finished the backsplash...Instead of going to The Keg I suggested we take the $$ we'd spend on lunch and buy the stuff to complete the backsplash....so voila I'm getting my backsplash done instead, I think I made a great decision :) This morning at church our Youth Pastor--P. Pat spoke, and he did an amazing job, he asked us what our motivation was in going to church and whether it was because we loved Jesus or just because it was the thing to do. I really got a lot out of his message and I'm really trying to be a real person! Tonight we went to GT, my brother was speaking...and he also did a great job! His title was "Damaged but Deliverable" the whole day flowed perfectly! We sang this hymn tonight and I'm at the point in my life that I can truly say It is Well!
